CHED MERIT SCHOLARSHIP (FULL AND HALF MERIT SCHOLARS)

The CHED Merit Scholarship Program (CMSP) is a competitive scholarship initiative of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) that aims to support academically talented and deserving Filipino students. This program is intended for incoming/current first-year college students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and potential for excellence in higher education.  Specifically, the CMSP is open to student applicants who have achieved a minimum General Weighted Average (GWA) of 93% or its equivalent in their Grade 12 report card.

Priority Programs
  • Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
  1. Filipino Citizen,
  2. Senior High school graduate with a minimum general weighted average (GWA) of 93% or its equivalent; and
  3. Combined annual gross income of parents, or legal guardian should not exceed Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP500,000.00)
  1. Accomplished Online Application Form
  2. Copy of Birth certificate issued by National Statistics Office (NSO) or Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA);
  3. Certified true copy of Form 138 (Learner’s Progress Report or SF9), duly signed by the registrar or an authorized representative of the senior high school attended;
  4. Financial – The student-applicants shall submit any one (1) of the following documents whichever is applicable:
    1. Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian
    2. Certificate of Tax Exemption/Non-Filer issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR);
    3. Certified true copy of latest contract or proof of income may be considered for children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Seafarers; or
    4. Social Case Study Report issued by the City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD/MSWD).
  5. Other Requirement (if applicable)

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR COCONUT FARMERS AND THEIR FAMILIES (COSCHO)

The scholarship program shall be accessible to qualified and deserving coconut farmers and/or their families duly registered under the National Coconut Farmers Registry System.

The program shall cover undergraduate students who will enroll or currently enrolled in agriculture, agricultural engineering, agribusiness management, agricultural economics and other courses identified by the PCA.

Eligibility Requirements
  1. Filipino citizen
  2. Graduating high school student/high school graduate with a general weighted average grade (GWA) of 80% or its equivalent or college student with earned academic units relevant to the degree programs identified by PCA with a GWA of 80% the previous semester or its equivalent;
  3. Pass the entry level requirements of identified State Universities and Colleges (SUCs);
  4. Not be a recipient of any government-funded financial assistance program;
  5. Duly registered coconut farmer in the NCFRS or his/her dependent;
  6. Must have a combined annual gross income of parents not exceeding ₱300,000.00
  1. Birth Certificate issued by the Local Civil Registry or Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
  2. Academic:
    • For senior high school students – duly certified copy of the grades for Grade 11 and first semester for Grade 12;
    • For senior high school graduates – form 138; and
    • For applicants with earned units or currently enrolled in college – duly Certified Copy of Grades for the latest semester/term attended.
  3. PCA Certification, issued by PCA Regional Office (PCA-RO) to NCFRS registered coconut farmers/farmworkers upon the endorsement of the PCA Provicial Office and/or Local Coconut Industry Development Councils (LCIDCs), small coconut farmers organizations, federations, and cooperatives. Note: Only one family member shall be allowed to apply for the scholarship;
  4. Certificate of Good Moral Character from the last school attended;
  5. Proof of income – any of the following:
    • Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of applicant and/spouse/parents/guardians if imployed;
    • Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR);
    • Certificate of No Income from BIR;
    • Certificate of Indigency from their Barangay; or
    • Certificate/Case Study from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
  6. Notice of admission from the HEI with collegiate degree offerings;
  7. Proof that the student applicant belonged to special group/s (if applicable); and
  8. Original Barangay Certification that parents/guardians and siblings had never attended college/university (if applicable).

AGRICULTURAL COMPETITIVENESS ENHANCEMENT FUND - GRANTS-IN-AID FOR HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM (ACEF-GIAHEP)

The ACEF-GIAHEP is open to all qualified and deserving undergraduate students who will enroll or are currently enrolled in any CHED recognized higher education institution in the areas of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, veterinary medicine education and related agricultural education programs.

Eligibility Requirements
  1. Filipino citizen
  2. Graduating high school students; high school graduates; with earned college academic units relevant to the identified degree programs;
  3. Will enroll or currently enrolled in recognized programs of private higher education institutions or authorized programs of SUCs/LUCs in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, veterinary medicine education and related agricultural education programs;
  4. Combined annual gross income of parents/guardians not to exceed Four Hundred Thousand Pesos (₱400,000.00).
  5. Preferably dependent of registered farmers and/or fisherfolks in Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and other registry systems;
  6. Must not be a beneficiary of any government funded student financial assistance program; and
  7. Must not be convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude.

 

*In exceptional cases, where income exceeds ₱400,000.00, CHEDROs shall determine the merit of the application. Said exceptional cases include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Applicant who has four (4) or more dependent siblings;
  2. Applicant who has family member/s with medical findings of serious illness;
  3. Applicant whose Overseas Filipino Worker parent/guardian face employment problems, termination or deportation; and
  4. Other similar cases as mentioned above.

 

  1. Certified true copy of Birth Certificate;
  2. Academic requirement:
    1. For senior high school graduates – Form 138;
    2. For graduating senior high school students — duly certified true copy of grades for Grade 11 and 1st semester of Grade 12; and
    3. For applicants with earned units in college — duly certified copy of grades for the latest semester/term attended;
  3. Proof of income – ANY of the following:
    1. Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parent/s or guardian/s if employed;
    2. Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR);
    3. Certificate of No Income from BIR; or
    4. Certificate/Case Study Report from City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (C/MSWD).
  4. Proof that the student applicant belongs to a special group/s (if applicable).
  1. Student Applicant should submit applications to CHED-10 Regional Office.
  2. The CHED Regional Office will then evaluate and approves application and recommends the master list to CHED OSDS.
  3. The CHED OSDS will then validate and approves list of qualified beneficiaries for funding purposes.

DBP RESOURCE FOR INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION (DBP-RISE)

The DBP RISE, the second tranche of DBP Endowment for Education Program (DEEP), is another DBP flagship CSR program for Education. Qualified and deserving high school graduates are given scholarships in DBP RISE-accredited schools to provide educational opportunities to the best and brightest but marginalized high school graduates while strengthening institutional relationship with Program partners. In creative collaboration with selected partners, our youth are molded into honest, responsible, empowered, productive and competitive global citizens. On the premise that labor is the most important asset of the poor, DBP RISE shall produce a pool of qualified and highly skilled professionals to serve the needs of the local and global job markets.

Eligible Beneficiaries
  1. Incoming Freshmen or continuing financially challenged students for the pertinent school year;
  2. Not presently enjoying any form of scholarship/stud grant;
  3. Filipinos of good moral character to be supported by a letter of recommendation from the high school Principal;
  4. Belongs to indigent family with annual family income not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (P150,000);
  5. Has a general average of at least 85% with no grade below 80% as shown in the Secondary Report Card to be stated in letter of recommendation from high school Principal (for degree courses only); and
  6. Pass Partner School’s entrance/admission/medical/dental/physical examinations.

Formal expression of commitment to abide by the RISE policies and guidelines as provided in the DBP RISE policies and guidelines as provided in the DBP RISE MOA and Scholarship Contract.

TULONG DUNONG PROGRAM

TDP aims to support at least the partial cost of tertiary education, inclusive of education-related expenses of the grantee. It is a grant under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Program

Eligible Beneficiaries
  1. Filipino Citizen.
  2. Combined household gross income (parents/guardians) not exceeding P400,000.00.
  3. Enrolled in any first undergraduate degree program in partner HEIs.
  4. Not a benefeciary of the TES, CHED Scholarship Programs (CSPs) and other national government-funded student financial assistance programs (StuFAPs).
  • P7,500.00 per regular semester (subject to prioritization and availability of funds).

New Applicants:

  1. TDP-TES Application Form.
  2. Certified true copy/electronically generated Certificate of Registration (COR) with number of units as proof of enrollment to the corresponding semester.
  3. Certificate of Indigency as proof of income duly signed by the Punong Barangay where the applicant resides.

Continuing Grantees:

  1. Certified true copy/electronically generated Certificate of Registration (COR) with number of units as proof of enrollment to the corresponding semester.
  2. Certified true copy of Leave of Absence (LOA) submitted to HEI for returning students who failed to enroll one semester in one academic year (if applicable). 

TERTIARY EDUCATION SUBSIDY

A grant-in-aid program that supports the full or partial cost of tertiary education in SUCs, CHED recognized LUCs and private higher education institutions (HEIs).

Eligible Beneficiaries
  1. Filipino citizen
  2. Meets the admission and retention policies of the partner HEI
  3. No previous undergraduate degree
  4. Not overstaying in the program
  • P20,000 per Academic Year for SUC/LUC
  • P27,000 per Academic Year for PHEI
  • P10,000 for TES-3A (Person with Disability)
  • P8,000 (one-time reimbursement) for TES-3B (Board/Licensure Exam Takers)
  1. Certificate of Registration (COR)/Enrollment
  2. Certificate of Residency (for private HEI in no SUC/LUC Category)
  3. PWD ID (if applicable)
